Behind the Booth ReMA 2025 Roundtables Sponsor Previews

From Wednesday, September 10, to Friday, September 12, traders, processors, and consumers across the U.S. and abroad will congregate in Chicago for the ReMA 2025 Roundtables. This two-and-a-half-day event features massive networking opportunities in tandem with expert market analysis.

Are you excited to explore the ReMA 2025 Roundtables but not sure where to start? No problem. ReMA News spoke with several of the event’s top sponsors for a sneak peek at what attendees can expect from their presence at Roundtables and how to find out what these companies are looking forward to at the event.

Eric Henkelman – Chief Commercial Officer, Pure Aluminum

What can Roundtable attendees look forward to from Pure Aluminum at the event?

We have a lot of meetings scheduled with suppliers and customers plus the timing could not be better as it coincides with the launch of our new greenfield secondary aluminum smelter.  Between Pure Aluminum and our strategic commercial partner, Traxys, we will be well represented, spreading the exciting news of our state-of-the-art plant.

Can you tell me about the strategic partnership between Pure Aluminum and Traxys, who is also a Roundtables sponsor?

Pure Aluminum is a world-class secondary aluminum plant that incorporates the latest ultra-efficient furnaces and automation to enhance efficiencies and safety. It was also important to the owner, Mark Clark, that the Greenfield plant’s sustainability platform is an industry leader ensuring the highest environmental standards and carbon footprint reduction initiatives, so customers do not need to worry about legacy issues.

The plant is designed to supply various aluminum products to sectors including steel, aluminum die casting, and primary aluminum industries, with a focus on producing Secondary Aluminum Spec Alloys, Recycled Secondary Ingot (RSI), Wrought Alloys, and Aluminum Deoxidizers.

Our strategic commercial partner, Traxys, will manage the global sourcing and financing of the scrap, marketing, logistics, sales, and customer relationships, while Pure Aluminum will operate the production facility in Saranac, Michigan.

One of the main issues we face in the industry is market volatility and pricing. Having Traxys insight and experience dealing with market fluctuations is another major benefit not to mention they have established relationships and sales of other products into the markets we are targeting.  Great synergy between our two companies.

What are you excited about attending the Roundtable?

By attending the Roundtable, you always come away with more information and knowledge in terms of what we’re facing as an industry today and what we could potentially face tomorrow. For example, the tariffs are such a constantly changing dynamic that you need to make sure you’re up to date and know how to prepare. So, in addition to the commercial benefits at Roundtables you also gain so much knowledge from hearing from experts and people in the industry.
