Awards and Contests

ReMA’s awards and contests celebrate excellence in a number of areas including member contributions and achievements, products design with recycling in mind, industry safety, state advocacy, and youth industry awareness.

Design for Recycling Award

The Design for Recycling® Award is ReMA’s highest award that is given annually to the most outstanding contribution to products designed with recycling in mind. It recognizes the proactive steps made by manufacturers who have actively incorporated Design for Recycling® principles into their products and manufacturing processes.

Lifetime Achievement Award

ReMA’s Lifetime Achievement Award is presented each year in recognition of an individual or individuals life-long dedication and leadership in the recycled materials industry and commitment to the Recycled Materials Association.

Recycling Impact Award

This award recognizes National Lieutenant Governors Association (NLGA) members who have gone above and beyond in recognizing that recyclable materials are valuable and essential to manufacturing and our economy as well as to conserving natural resources.

Young Executive of the Year Award

Established by ReMA’s Young Executives Council, this award was created to promote the accomplishments of successful young professionals in the recycled materials industry by highlighting their contributions and dedication.

Youth Recycling Contest

In partnership with JASON Learning, ReMA sponsors an annual video and poster contest for students in grades K-12 featuring recycling-related themes, with a goal to better educate students on the value of recycling.
