Meet Gladys Sanchez, ReMA’s New Senior Accountant

In December 2025, Gladys Sanchez joined the ReMA Finance team as the new Senior Accountant.

ReMA News chatted with Sanchez about her background, why she decided to take a job with ReMA, and what she’s looking forward to most about working at the association.

Tell me about your position at ReMA.

I serve as a Senior Accountant at ReMA, with a primary focus on accounts payable and chapter financials. I also manage the employees’ corporate credit card program. In this role, I help ensure timely and accurate processing, maintain strong controls, and support clear, reliable financial reporting for both the organization and its chapters. I work closely with internal teams and chapter contacts to keep processes running smoothly and efficiently.

Tell me about your background and experience.

Prior to joining ReMA, I held finance and program management roles in both nonprofit and municipal organizations. My experience includes leading accounts payable operations, managing month-end close, managed monthly credit card activity, reviewed employee expense reports, preparing audit workpapers and tax support schedules, monitoring budgets, and implementing best practices for internal controls and standard operating procedures.

How did you decide to apply for the position at ReMA?

I saw it as an opportunity where I could apply my experience in nonprofit finance, compliance, and process improvement in a meaningful way. The Senior Accountant role also allows me to contribute my technical expertise while supporting an organization focused on long-term sustainability and growth.

What are you looking forward to at ReMA?

I’m looking forward to working with a collaborative team and supporting ReMA’s mission through strong, reliable financial operations. I’m excited to continue improving processes, learn about the organization, and contribute in ways that help ReMA operate efficiently while serving its members and the industry.

What do you like to do outside of the office?

Outside of work, I enjoy taking dancing classes and trying new things. I like staying active, learning new skills, and exploring new experiences whenever I can.
