Public Notice: ReMA Board to Consider Addition of Ginger Nonferrous Specification
(Washington, D.C. – February 19, 2026) – Following approval by the Nonferrous Division on October 9, 2025, the Recycled Materials Association (ReMA) Board of Directors will consider the following addition to the existing nonferrous specifications.
New Specification:
Ginger
Shredded Aluminum Cast
- Mixed shredded cast aluminum that is mechanically segregated from Zorba and Twitch. The Material must be dry and not contain more than 1 percent max free Mg, 1 percent max free Zn, and 1 percent max free Fe. Not containing more than 1 percent max non-metallics. Material to be free of excessively oxidized material, air bag canisters, or any sealed or pressurized items. Any variation to be sold by special arrangement between buyer and seller.
