John Sacco is a 42-year veteran of the recycled materials and recycling equipment industries and the former owner and president of Sierra International Machinery. A graduate of the University of Southern California, John has spent more than four decades working with recyclers, manufacturers and industry leaders throughout the United States and around the world. John is a former chair of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries, now known as the Recycled Materials Association, and has been deeply involved in advancing and promoting the recycled materials industry throughout his career. He also served as executive producer of “Repurposed,” a three-season documentary series created to tell the story of recycling, the people behind the industry and the important role recycled materials play in manufacturing and the global economy. After transitioning ownership of Sierra International Machinery, John continues to serve the company in an advisory capacity while also providing strategic consulting to companies in the recycled materials, manufacturing and related industries. Drawing on more than four decades of operating, leadership, relationship-building and industry experience, he works with companies on strategy, growth, organizational direction, customer relationships and business development.
