National Safety Month is observed annually in June to highlight the leading causes of preventable injuries and deaths in the United States. Established in 1996 by the National Safety Council, the initiative equips employers, individuals, and communities with resources to reduce risks from the workplace to anyplace. On this episode of This Week in Recycling, we chatted with Mike Marino, ReMA’s Vice President of Safety, about the importance of national safety month, how recyclers can work to continue improving the safety culture in their companies, and where he sees the future of safety within the recycled materials industry moving forward.
